Summer holidays .....

Yesterday chat with Ai Woon....

1st thing of course ask whether she likes uk or not
Reply : I dunno how i gonna stay there 3 years ...
Wah thought she wanna go uk so much & like it so much. Now give this reply ???

Then she told me good news that she finally got accepted into UCL hall gratz.. But later on my hk friend tell me he is not coming to London already. Ok straight away .... =.=''''' got empty room in my flat now !!! Anyone wants to stay in ??????

Well, I was suppose to post this long time ago in Malaysia before I come back to London again. Cant believe my summer ended so fast. Being quite emo during the summer, until I got the JPA scholarship which cheered me up and gave me way much relieve... never had felt so free in my life(although now I am bonded). Since I decided to leave smkb and went to A levels, I made too many changes in my life. Everyone knows what sort of noobie character I was back in form 5. I was too scared to do many things, never fail to obey the school rules, didnt fight for what I want, only know how to mug.... not socialisable...

As I had told my good friend ts, the biggest driving force of my life now is greed and inspirations. Getting inspired and have the courage to go for it!!

*1.5 months later*
Yesterday, ts called me and say that he would like to work for internship in summer next year. He would be glad if he come to London and stay with me during the summer. Then I asked him how long would it be... he said 2-3 months.... I was thinking of working in somewhere for internship during the summer, but I still miss Malaysia. So if I were to work in London for 2-3 months during my summer, it would kill me!! Miss mamaking sessions, food and people back home. Its weird, but the feeling of missing home is stronger, when I started to get bored studying here. I wish I could do so many things and reclaim much time that I wasted. London just sucks. It suck most during summer. Expensive, boring place!! I would never thought of London, and why must Imperial College be in London...?!.. sigh .... So sorry ts, cant accomodate you during summer le.

Ohh.. Lots more SMKB people came and are coming to uk! Proud to be the only cheap Kepong people here!! Jin Kuan (if you happened to know who, is my senior in kb) came to visit me. They who twin to Aberystwyth came to visit me in London. And guess what, we went to visit Greenwich! A place that I never thought of going, its a small area in London. If you do remember your form 2 geography, its where the time of the world 00 00 start. Garis meridian Greenwich, remember ??

Oh, being a more crazy engineer, lets show something fun and have some maths solving!

Prove that:
5 = 7

What??!! something ridiculous?? Its literally asking you to prove that five equals seven!! Think think think !! even a form 4 student can do it. Nothing stupid like using chinese characters or some shit. Simple pure maths.

Oh.. mmhmmm ...
Aha!!

*scribble scribbles*.....

write it down! get a paper and a pen!!

errr...

STupid!

.... wth

..bla bla bla...
lalala

give up la!!

Still scratching your head?? I shall give you the solutions...

5 = 7

5 = 6+1 ---> now bring the 6 to the left hand side

5 - 6 = 1

-1 = 1 ---> now square both sides!

(-1)^2 = (1)^2

And finally we get

1 = 1 !!!!!! proved (left hand side equals to right hand side)

Please dont feel stupid and forget your maths !!

Gay

I created this post just to further illustrate some other posts in the future.

This word has many meanings. But roughly, I only knew 3. Anyone wanna add?

1st.
Gay means happy!
Eg. During the 2 years studying in London, I felt so gay.

Its like the name of this laundry shop down the Fulham area, the area of my residence.
Go happy..! Man, can go there wash their clothes everyday. Cheer em up!!

2nd.

Often means greatness. Powerful, strong, extraordinary..etc

For example, a gay dota hero.

The hero is just so strong, nobody could fight against him/her.

Or...
A person is gay. Like the Singaporean in my class. She scored 100% for maths test and often near 100% for all the subjects.
She is damn gay...

3rd defination:

DO YOU NEED FURTHER EXPLANATIONS????

Achievement

Woo.... near 2 months back in this place call Malaysia. A place where you will never see me upload any pics in posts although I loved to have lots of nice nice pics. Obviously because there is no broadband services available. I mean the real service... not fake streamyx.

I set lots of mission for my summer holidays. Well now I have to count :::

Congratz to myself, for never letting my fighting spirit down. Through hard and long battle, millions of dilemma and worries, I proved myself "nothing is impossible" . Thanks for my dad never giving up pushing and forcing me when i feel lost and hopeless. A little 1st class honour for my 1st year, didnt cheer me up at all. ... Not until I can ask myself. wow what to do with 950 pounds a month?? ^ ^ Now I throw my biggest burden of studying in UK away.!! yay surprise in this year, but still didnt get to celebrate it. Y ??

2ndly I worked for the 1st time in my life. Thats one of my must hit target for this summer and I did it. Working is piece of shit. If work is that simple, no wonder ppl keep complaining for low salary. If I ever get into job like this, I would bring a psp to work or even sleep there... till you give me sth to do !!! Working is a different experience and a worth taking 1... just not as great as studying overseas. hehe... Ok, my job involve solving problems for computers, hardwares, network in offices etc. And my master get paid 2000-3000 a month with fully fuel and car allowance. What a easy life. Morning come to work at 10, sit down and chill for 2 hours. Afternoon go to customer's place fix computer, collect cheque DO PO invoice etc... Then come back evening and call it a day. And yes you dont need a diploma even.. you just need to use a little bit of memory to remember how to fix computers. But i dont think many people will prefer life that way, me 1st to say no no ... I want a challenging and brain drain work. Work like tis is boring!!!!!!!! sien ahh!!!!!!!
Quote from 1 of my master: " Dont complain ! work like this not good meh? At least you get to sit in air conditioned office and not going out carry shit load of heavy stuff or serving people."

Next, I plan to get my music skill a little bit higher. Ori plan was to hardcore practice 4 hours a day. In the end 2 hour also duno got or not... shit .. Somemore say freshers party have to perform a short tremolo piece.. dun wan sia sui again. aih.

So everybit of leftover of holiday must enjoy to the fullest !!!

1st year!!

Once upon a time I was thinking what would life be like in uk and how could I survive in that cold place far far away from home. Now, I officially completed my 1st year of uni in imperial college london. Wow that's fast... even faster than I thought it can be.

Studying in uk is the best experience I had in life. Before. I might have pictured myself in overseas or fear the harsh environment to study there, through medias, dramas movies, articles....etc. My experience proved me wrong. Studying here turned out beyond what I expected. Friendly people, beautiful country, lovely streets, freestyle life. I feel less worried, less fear, less anxiety in facing life. If i were to go for an interview, imagine 2 years ago after spm, I couldn't sleep for the night, nervous and scared. There are just too many things to learn here.

Surprisingly, I don't feel homesick. This is some kind of life I was dreaming to have. Days just pass by easily. Lectures, cooking, leisure time on swimming, jogging around the park, visiting London. And yea.. of course staying in uni halls is a great challenge, especially with a roommate.
This is not discouraging anybody to save money and get a share room in any uni. Just that there are infinite many various kinda attitudes and "traits" in this world that you can ever find out. So, you will meet these people when you share your room.

Of course, degree course is not that easy. Work hard doesnt mean you will get what you expected. We have to accept failures, and always try harder. I am glad that I never rely on tuition classes. Because they never ever feed you enough information in lectures here. Lets say they will teach you abc ... and they expect you to know how to write an essay. You will be like what the heck ??! I dont even know what is a word!! Yea... to all my fellow friends who are going to university, it will be like that, no spoon feeding, no notes, just work and thinking.

I think an extra credit studying overseas is learning how to take care of yourself. Especially cooking. Everybody start from a total noob from dont dare to touch raw chicken to pro. We tried everything here, from deep frying to baking, steaming to even making roti canai.

Few more hours I am going back to Malaysia, a all summer terrible hot place call home. Now I can understand why summer is so nice. Because its time to have fun and party!! Strip off thick jackets and walk out to the warm street. And yes, after exams means party like crazy !!

We had a bbq straight after our last paper. People just get drunk before the party start and lie on the grass, 1 even got send to hospital because of alcohol poisoning.
1 really dead guy lying on the grass with 1 pretending to be drunk.

And a must for exam after party: clubbing!

And then I went for a trip in Bournemouth for 3 days. Its a famous seaside in uk.2 hours away from london. The place is really wonderful, the scenary is just so fantasy like. But it gets kinda boring after a while... anyone like this place, you can try to apply for Bournemouth university hahaha.

The place look so sunny in summer, yeah, but its freaking cold, the wind is so strong and the temperature its about 15-18C. And the seawater, we tried to jump in to swim for 10 minutes, and ended up everybody shivering, its so cold, just like ice water. No wonder people still come to malaysia for sunny beaches.

The sea side is not like malaysia. Its a cliff around the coastal line with beaches at the bottom.

Challenge

If there is a choice, do you want to be 1st or last ?
A good question is to ask, 1st of what? Or, fall behind of who ?

Once upon a time, I used to running with zk in menjalara park. I remembered that time we just promised ourselves to run as much as we could. He want to slim and I just wanna get some fitness. Yea... at 1st I really cant jog, imagine his big belly (no offense) also win me haha!! Till that there is 1 time I run longer distance than him, and we actually ran the most 8 rounds that time. Being fit that time,we outran "ppl" when we ask them go jog haha... we didnt bothered to try harder. And I think that was the max we achieved. 8 rounds might be approx 1.5-2km... Why didnt we try harder ? The answer is simple, if you run with your friends you lead and feel contented, nobody run more than you. Why bothered to run anymore?

Now coming to imperial college... Imagine wo, that time I took lifeguard course and some more go for instructor, I consider myself ok ok la. Having the long time carved in my mind assumption that people that study( who nerds) they wont be any fit de.... Yea it might be probably true in my circle, in malaysia, in kl maybe. Thats why, most of malaysians got a complete lousy education anyway.
Story: I go ask my friend who study A levels in singapore and a girl who is from sarawak to go run in hyde park lo. Lets challenge, maybe because I think I can catch up anyway ma. ( Since 10 years of my school life, people same education standard with me, we have at least same physical status, or most of the time I wins haha) So, we started running... running.... watching that they are further away from me, I feel really tired and stupid. Until I felt really short of breath, cant see them already, noticed that I have really never run this much before le... I think about 3-4km. Haha back in Malaysia I never could run 3-4km from scratch or suddenly.

Realised that I was completely trashed... sad. Then that day I asked my other friend from my course to run with us again, again I ended last. Lol cant even finish running the whole course, which was about 2miles(3-4km) again ( approximately I think is 1.5 -2 times running around the selayang park). !!! oMg, I think i am seriously lousy here... sad.

When it comes to studies.... What do you think ? It might be simple to study a little and come out top a class, yea right...but here, I think I did put some effort in my studies, come out when I got my results, really I got nothing to say. =.=!!! If I can study 2 hours last time and come out with an A in A levels, here I study the day I was taught the topic until the test I studied another night for it, came out 56% (mayb its long since i ever get so low marks ady le).... Wah... swt.

The lesson of the day, its a 180 degrees or ( π) difference. Completely different phase of a new life. Maybe its time to take a challenge; when you never fail you never will try harder. And perhaps, its good to always lose and always thrive to win a better opponent.

Remember now my friend ts and william is training for badminton. Why suddenly train for it de? Lol, lost in match la of course. Ooh.. now I see, its so "lose face" if you keep losing and therefore you want to win; everybody have this instinct or to fight back. It always feels good to win and feels terrible to lose. 1 thing to say is persistence and passion. How long will this feeling lasts? Very short time only la....

We always say never give up, but who never gives up? Haha so I thought of my other friend now, zk. He is a person who gets interested in everything. He almost wants to try everything, and I see he didnt keep it up "all" !!of the time. Lets take it a challenge, we shall see who is successful in doing whatever he/she believes in. Right? Next time I shall see william and ts winning tournaments, (or you have quit already) ?lols. I did train for badminton, but I never win before.... I remember that time my dad asked me to train a sport that I can master at, I just reluctantly went training. Now found out that, I still lose here in imperial college malaysian society....aih. *regrets*

A good story quoted from Mahathir when he came to give a talk in London a week ago.... He says:
"
Once in his uni, there is a guy who believes in fortune alot. So in the 1st year final exams, he went to ask a fortune teller how he will do in the exams. The fortune teller told him that he is gonna fail. So he said, since I am going to fail, what for I study? And of course he didnt study and failed. On the following year, he went to the fortune teller again. He asked, will I pass this time? The fortune teller said, great, you will pass this year! After the good news he said, since I am going pass this year what for I bother study ? Of course he didnt study and fail the year... "
